I really enjoy Christian Cozy Mystery stories. Mistletoe and Mayhem by Janice Thompson is Book 3 in the Little Red Truck Mysteries series. I have been enjoying this series from the beginning and have been looking forward to this book!

II dove right into this book and was engrossed into the storyline immediately.  Raelyn  and Mason and Aunt Bessie are the main characters in this book. The setting is Christmas time in a small town,   Mabank, Texas. Raelyn and Mason are in the midst of joy and happiness as their Christmas themed wedding is only a week away! Their joy turns to Worry when a Suspicious Wildfire is heading toward the Hadley Ranch, where the wedding it supposed to take place. Raelyn and Mason decide that they will not allow these Wildfires to ruin their wedding and actually think it could be more then an accident. I LOVE how they take action and begin to investigate the origin of these Fires. Raelyn is such an AMAZING character in this storyline. She wants to not only save her Wedding, but her concern is for the Family Ranch as a whole. Mason is a true gentleman in this story and his love for Raelyn shows in his actions. Aunt Bessie is such an AMAZING character for this storyline and she makes me laugh throughout the book. I also LOVE how they rely on God throughout this situation. The book is one of Mystery, LOVE, Family and recognizing that God is in Control.  I really hope there are books in this series as I am truly enjoying this series! I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Cozy Mysteries and Small Town family life. AMAZING BOOK!

Janice Thompson, who lives in the Houston area, writes romantic comedies, cozy mysteries, nonfiction devotionals, and musical comedies for the stage. She is the mother of four daughters and nine feisty grandchildren. When she’s not writing books or taking care of foster dogs you’ll find her in the kitchen, baking up specialty cakes and cookies.

More from Janice

In the mid-90s, as my children and I drove up to the Mabank area from our home in Houston, we saw smoke off in the distance. The closer we got to my mother and stepfather’s acreage—sixty-three gorgeous acres of cattle land—the thicker the smoke got.

When we arrived on Mom’s street the reality of what faced us was unavoidable. The property across the road, to our left, was in a roaring blaze, flames moving so fast my car could barely get past them on the narrow country road.

We miraculously made it to Mom’s driveway and went inside her home, hearts racing. In that moment, a decision was made to gather in a circle and pray. We offered up a passionate plea for the Lord’s protection then rushed outside to grab hoses to help water everything down.

As I sat to write Mistletoe and Mayhem, my latest cozy mystery from Barbour Publishing, I was faced with the memories of this terrifying trip. Just as you read in this story, firefighters got that massive blazed stopped, right at the edge of her property. And I can tell you as a first-hand witness that not a spark landed on any of us. Whenever I reflect on this event I’m reminded of God’s ultimate faithfulness. He spared us from certain catastrophe.

I can assure you, we as a family never forgot the mercy and grace of God as we faced our Isaiah 43 moment. No doubt you’ve been through a few fires, too. Fear not. The Lord is right there, ready to carry you through. You can trust Him, even in the fiery trials of life.

Blessings on you all,

Janice Thompson

“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.

Isaiah 43:1b-3

It’s the late 1800s, and Hunter Carson has married the woman of his dreams and settled on the land he bought. He’s never known God or even much about him. But his tender heart can be touched. His wife—the beautiful and exotic Mexican Rosita DeSantis, is totally in love with him—but something is wrong. Just days after their marriage, why is she crying and touchy? More from Carole

When I began writing the Western Romatic Supense books, I didn’t realize how much I would fall in love with the characters and their lives. All three of the books were special to me (and I am considering more).  One thing that helped me was a lot of research, but even more so was our travels in several western states. We were able to meet quite a few new people along with some of the American Natives.

It’s always fun to find new things in each of my books, and in Hunter’s Rose, I learned about early restaurants during that time period. I searched for information about the early trains. I looked for places and things about Boston. I researches, especially, for Mexican teas. And I also had to research Mexican language.

It was a very fun time spent in research, and though I’ve only briefly visited Mexico, it was still a part of my memories and life events which added to the research for my book.

Travel is a big part of our life. From Washington state to Florida to Maine, it all was folder for my future books at the time. And as a writer I intensely enjoy capturing every moment, every memory, every thing that could possibly be used in a book.

  • From harrowing experiences to almost vehicle problems and close-to-wrecks at times (and not usually our fault).
  • From winter weather where I was praying we’d make it to our destiny.
  • From fun times like gold panning in mountain streams to rescuing beautiful horses, along with trying my hand at weaving—and oh, what a laughter my American Indian friends thought that was!!
  • From trying foods that I didn’t particularly care for to some delicious items that I really enjoyed.
  • From almost meeting President Reagan to climbing a mountain to see the hogans where certain American Indians lived (and one where a baby sheep stayed with them).

I could go on and on, but it would take too much time. Finding, living the life we’ve had has been a blessing, especially for my work as an author.

And I feel so honored to have the privilege of learning from life and the experiences we’ve encountered to give me that so that I might create stories that are realistic, fun and touching.

I hope you find Hunter’s Rose just that way.

More from Rosann

40 Days to God, My Father was born out of a difficult season with my pastor-father’s struggle with substance abuse. As I walked through the painful circumstances with my earthly father, I found myself grappling with trusting God as a good Father. I sensed the Lord inviting me on a journey to know Him as my One True Father. It was through reading the Scriptures––where I saw the Lord’s character revealed––prayer, and reflection that I found my trust restored.

I want to share the same truths I found with others who may be doubting the goodness of the Lord. Assuredly, He is the perfect Father each of us desperately needs. I pray readers will come away from the book knowing that He is faithful, loving, and kind.

Puppy Love and Snowflake Kisses JustRead Blog Tour

Welcome to the Blog Tour for Puppy Love & Snowflake Kisses by Jennifer Faye, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours!

Puppy Love and Snowflake Kisses

Title: Puppy Love & Snowflake Kisses
Series:
Kringle Falls #2
Author:
Jennifer Faye
Publisher:
Lazy Dazy Press
Release Date:
October 1, 2025
Genre:
Clean & Wholesome Romance / Christmas Holiday Romance / Small Town Romance

When she needs help, he’s the last person she would turn to…

Belle Sinclair has recently adopted a stray puppy. It was love at first snuggle. He is the best Christmas present ever. And yet her holiday happiness goes sideways when she hears a siren and spots flashing lights in her rearview mirror.

Sheriff Parker Bishop is a confirmed bachelor. He firmly believes all laws should be obeyed without exception. And so, when he spots the beautiful Belle Sinclair once more committing a moving violation, what choice does he have? He has to pull her over.

But this holiday, Belle’s puppy has gone missing. Suspecting foul play, she has to call on the one man in Kringle Falls who can get under her skin with just a look. This Christmas, will they be able to work past their differences in order to help the puppy? And along the way will they find that opposites just might attract?

Romance novels, especially ones that have a Christmas theme, are a genre that I LOVE! Puppy Love & Snowflake Kisses by Jennifer Faye is the latest in this genre that I have read. It is Book 2 in the Kringle Falls series. Jennifer Faye is a "new to me author" so I was excited to read the book for that reason also.

I started reading the book and it reeled me in from the very first pages. The main characters in this book are Belle Sinclair and Parker Bishop. The setting is small town Kringle Falls during the Christmas Season. Belle has recently adopted a Puppy and LOVES her new Puppy. She is out driving and gets pulled over by none other then Sheriff Parker Bishop. Belle knows Parker all too well, as he is a stickler for the Law and she has been puled over once again for traffic laws. Belle doesn't exactly like Parker, but she knows he is doing his job. The storyline takes a turn when Belle has to call upon Sheriff Parker to help her find her stolen Puppy, Odie. I really felt for Belle that her house was ransacked and her sweet Puppy Odie was stolen. I LOVE how Parker steps in not only to solve the case and help find Odie, but to also protect Belle. The close bond they form because of the case and working with each other was heartwarming. The book is about Trust, Opposites Attract, overcoming the past and more. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who LOVES Romance, Puppies, and Christmas. GREAT BOOK!
