From Zero to SaaS — Building and Launching an AI SaaS in 10 Days!

I've just published a complete recap of my 10-day challenge to build and launch an AI SaaS 🚀

  1. 3

This looks amazing and possible. Krishna.

  2. 3

Great videos. Binge watched them all. Congrats on the MRR

    1. 2

      That is awesome! Thank you!

  3. 3

Really good reading/watching :) Thank you for sharing and good luck

    1. 2

Glad you liked it! thanks for the comment

  4. 3

Amazing 10 days! I am considering a 6 month challenge, I am feeling like a slacker now :). Really nice job and thanks for sharing.

    1. 2

Thanks man. In my case, I knew exactly what I wanted before starting development, and I recycled a bunch of code from other projects. Starting from scratch would have been trickier, but I suggest taking a closer look to see if you can ditch some features and focus on validating the core idea without having to invest 6 months to figure that out.

  5. 3

That is great. I like the short video update for each day

  6. 3

Great challenge, want to start something similar with my analytics SaaS too!

    1. 2

      Nice! In public as well?

      1. 2

Not sure. I do not have a clear ICP yet, at what point do I know that the ICP and the expertise in my industry is enough to start a 10 day challenge?

  7. 3

Looks like a cool Story. Keep on going!

    1. 2

Thanks! Took a small break but ready to keep on going starting next week!

  8. 3

    Quite an insightful post Fernando!

  9. 3

awesome! share us more if the product goes well!!

    1. 2

Thanks! Currently sitting at 300 MRR, and I post constant updates on Twitter @fer_MOMENTO.

  10. 3

Nice work Fernando! I love the videos. Not too long, not too short. Just a 2 min video giving updates. Loved it! 🎉

    1. 3

Thanks for bringing that up! I was feeling quite unsure about what to include and what to leave out to keep people engaged and not get boring. There's huge room for improvement, but jonestly I didn't want to overthink it too much since I have a small number of followers. The one thing I decided was about is keeping the videos around 2 minutes in length MAX.

  11. 3

That is Good idea because Twitter is testing Community Notes for images.

    1. 2

Thanks I didn't know that. Do you think they'll add the carousel/slider feature?

  12. 3

    Wow this is great!

  13. 3

nice work! it's cool to see the entire process from start to finish. thanks for sharing!

    1. 2

The devlog and videos were mostly to hold myself accountable, but I was thinking that if they're a snooze fest for users, I could def find a simpler way to stay on track next time. So, it is really really nice to read here that so many people liked it!

  14. 3

This is a really cool idea. Have you considered making yourself some sort of carousel hosting service where they can manage their carousel through your application and don't have to make any changes to their page in order to make the updates? Kind of like how Stripe has the pricing tables?

    1. 3

I guess I never really considered something like that because coding it seems a bit too complicated for me. But thanks for throwing the suggestion, I really appreciate it.

      1. 3

Best of luck! You are doing great

  15. 3

Great work dude such an inspiration

    1. 2

that means a lot! Honestly, I started the challenge mostly for accountability, but it's amazing to read how it has unintentionally inspired others

  16. 3

The landing page looks epic and your tweet thread is excellent too, well done!

Honestly I'm a bit skeptical that this can be built in 10 days but wish you the best of luck!

    1. 3

@alxcnwy exactly same thoughts, I don't think it's possible to develop such editor from scratch and built it in 10 days including all blogging process together.
It was too smooth to be true, most likely product was already ready and previously built.
Product itself is superb and great, no critics but again this 10 days is a bit unrealistic for the quality of product Im seeing, which is complement by itself

      1. 2

I've recycled loads of code and components from my previous projects. Plus, the Outseta integration has been a real time-saver! But it's all good, I think it's okay to be a little skeptical about everything you read online.

  17. 3

Well done, Fernando! I loved the app and I think it's the truly simplest way to create carousels for all non-designers folks like me. Good luck with it!

    1. 2

Thanks a lot, this kind of feedback really boosts the motivation!

  18. 3

This is great. I am currently trying to take a product I built at a hackathon to market. This is so inspiring to see.

    1. 2

      You got this! Thanks!

  19. 3

Is it to add to your portfolio or market it?

    1. 2

Sorry, I didn't get that. Can you explain what you mean?

      1. 2

I mean if you want to build a company out of it! Or did you make it just for fun?

        1. 2

I primarily built it for profit

  20. 3

Good challenge! Doing such challenges may create pressure on you to complete these as soon as possible but these challenges are fun and interesting. Looking forward to see your product improve!

    1. 2

Thanks, man. Maybe 10 days was a bit extreme, but it was fun indeed! Now, I'm trying to take it a bit easier and enjoy the ride.

  21. 3

This is an amazing challenge, Fernando! I'm also doing a similar build-in-public 6 days challenge for my project Doks.ai on Twitter:

    1. 2

Best of luck and stay hydrated!

  22. 3

This is great. I can see all your experience in designing in the product itself. Elegant and simply awesome.

    1. 2

Thank you. A bit of that design experience includes spending way too many hours designing carousels for my FTE... but I'm glad to hear that it actually helped!

  23. 3

This is so cool! Looking forward to your next #buildinpublic project once you've recovered from this one 😃

    1. 3

Thanks and yeah, I can't really imagine doing a 10-day thing again any time soon. I'll chill now during the summer while I try to polish this project. But it was a really nice way to push something out of the door without feeling really attached to it, that is one of the things that I liked the most about the time constrain.

In previous projects, I felt like there was more at stake, because of the time investment, not sure how to explain it, but negative feedback used to hurt more personally.

And I'm not 100% sure, but if this project had been a disaster, I could have just moved on to something else in a blink of an eye, which is great. Otherwise, if the dev lasted for six months and still didn't work out, I would have tried to "pivot" and change different things to make it succeed before finally accepting that it wasn't meant to be.

      1. 2

Nicely put! Speed for the win!
I feel you on that "time investment and getting attached to it" thing. That's exactly my journey currently though it can also be very nice when one is super enthusiastic and serious about it (haha are we talking projects here ...)
