I've recently thought of creating a page full of my recommendations, so I can send it to my friends and to unsuspecting strangers. So, this came at a good time. However, I imagined something a little different for myself.
Firstly, I'd make the sections easier to navigate. Your current implementation requires scrolling until I find "software" or "movies", whereas I'd like my visitors to be able to find them quickly.
Another thing, is that I usually would like to add a short note next to each recommendation, explaining why I like it, or saying what I think of it. Just putting the names or links by themselves seems a little barren to me.
Lastly, you ask too many permissions imho.
These are just my thoughts, so take them as you will.
I like this, especially the “let me see it first.” , this is often missing from a lot of new services. I could see me signing up to this. Is trove doing well?
Hello everybody,
I just launched my project reclist.me and I want some feedback
It's called Reclist (recommendation list), and you can share your favorites Books, Podcasts, Newsletters, products, and more just by adding the links (Totally free )
Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I need to download an app?
No. It's totally web-based. You can use your favorite browser.
- How will people have access to my recommendation list?
You will receive a unique username based on your Twitter account. For example:
Twitter: twitter.com/BillGates
Reclist: reclist.me/BillGates
- Can I include affiliate program links for free?
Yes, totally free. Your recommendations could be profitable

I would love to receive your comments and suggestions!
I like the idea. It's completely fine if your chosen target audience is Twitter users however if that wasn't your intention you may want to look into some way of using the application that doesn't involve a twitter account as not every-one has one or wants one :)
Some of us long abandoned social media for our "peace of mind" so if you could avoid making them as "login gateaway" then that would be great. Maybe email is fine. Any way all the best :)
A lot of twitter permissions, perhaps worth explaining why you need all this and/or reduce them?
This application will be able to:
See Tweets from your timeline (including protected Tweets) as well as your Lists and collections.
See your Twitter profile information and account settings.
See accounts you follow, mute, and block.
See your email address.
Same here, I don't use it because I find twitter to be a very hostile place. On top of that my old account I registered in 2012 keeps being locked up because I refused to share my phone number - and when I did eventually share it twitter immediately put profiles of my friends as recommended ones, which means that at one point it stole my phone number from my friends' contact list and is now using it without my consent.
I don't use any third party sign in services. Email is the only option. Any third pary (Twitter, Google, Facebook, Github) etc can stop your account, making you lose access to anything you signed in via their account.
- The organisation of links into categories
- Short and friendly URL (with your username)
- Discover recommendations from other users (working on it) and share yours
- The people who come to see your recommendations know what they will see (not always in a blog)
I am all in for anything that makes people read, but I am not sure how useful it is for people who want nothing to do with Twitter, which from the link is not clear if you can use this tool without a twitter account.
