FrontGate Media Blog Tour: Why Everything that Doesn't Matter, Matters So Much by Charlie Peacock and Andi Ashworth

A hopeful and practical model for what it means to be a Christian and a culture-maker in a world of hurt and wondrous possibility, from multi–Grammy winner Charlie Peacock and his wife and author, Andi Ashworth.

Do you feel powerless and overwhelmed by the pain and suffering all around you? Have you ever asked, What can I do to mend the world, my family, or my own life? And if I could, why bother? Does my own small part even matter? If so, here comes hope from two guides who are further down the road. Charlie and Andi have written a collection of letters to Christians and spiritual seekers who think deeply and care acutely about the state of the world and their personal spheres of influence.

In Why Everything That Doesn't Matter, Matters So Much, beloved and trusted mentors, Charlie and Andi offer you:

Thought-provoking explorations into the many facets of Christian culture care and making, from the kitchen to Carnegie Hall.
Practical guidance for how to care for and improve the quality of human life, locally and globally, no matter your vocation.
A theology of imagination and creativity that provides a framework for all of life.
A model for expressing love in marriage, friendship, citizenship, and every kind of work—even in the midst of cynicism, fear, exhaustion, and oppression.
It might be said of Christians that our lives are either moving in the direction of the redemption Jesus has on offer, or away from it. Each of these letters is a gentle nudge in the direction of God's powerfully ordinary purpose for each of us, no matter what the future holds, to participate fully in the beautiful, redemptive work of Christ.

Charlie Peacock is a Grammy Award–winning, Billboard Chart–topping music producer, composer, and recording artist. He is a co-founder of the Art House, Wedgwood Circle, and founder/director Emeritus of the Commercial Music Program at Lipscomb University. Named by Billboard’s Encyclopedia of Record Producers as one of the 500 most important producers in music history, Charlie is also a three-time recipient of the Gospel Music Award for Producer of the Year. His books include New Way to Be Human, At the Crossroads, and a contribution to It Was Good: Making Music to the Glory of God. She has been married to Charlie Peacock for nearly fifty years and they have two grown, married children and four grandchildren.

We live in a world that is filled with Hurt, and unfortunately many carry hurt around and it shows. This book is written in short chapters that really speak to the heart of the reader. Charlie and Andi have written encouraging letters to people of all walks of life that will help them navigate the hurting world and be an encourager to those around them, including neighbors and friends. Hospitality and serving others is just one way that helps bring LOVE to others instead of HURT.  The wisdom from both Charlie and Andi is unmeasurable and very on point for today's world. I really enjoyed the difference in their writing styles and the fact that the book really spoke to me. I started reading it and could not put it down until I finished it.

I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who needs encouragement and guidance in today's world. A good book for anyone who needs to transform from HURT to LOVE!! One of the BEST books I have read in a long while! FANTASTIC BOOK!

FrontGate Media Blog Tour: Whatever Happens, Standing firm in your Faith When the World is Falling Apart by Robert J. Morgan

Life is unpredictable, and the world is unstable. People have never been so confounded, sensing our culture, economy, and geopolitical systems are spiraling downward. Even in our personal lives, none of us knows what will happen next—which is why God gave us the book of Philippians. This short letter—just over 100 verses—can help us learn to live overflowing lives in an overwhelming world.

Join renowned pastor and Bible teacher Robert J. Morgan as he explores one of the most practical books of the Bible and highlights several important lessons found within it. In 31 short chapters, readers will learn how to:

Use prayer to energize their life
Make today about others
Stay as cheerful as possible in all circumstances
Let others lean on their strength
Start everything with praise and end everything with prayer
And more!

As the apostle Paul wrote his letter to the Philippians from a prison cell, he was facing dire circumstances and an unsettled future. But he knew one thing—that whatever happened, he was going to stand firm in his faith and live a life worthy of the gospel. And no matter what we are going through today, we can do the same.

Robert J. Morgan teaches the Bible each week on his podcast, The Robert J. Morgan Podcast, and through his speaking engagements and his books, including: The Red Sea Rules, The Strength You Need, 100 Bible Verses That Made America, The 50 Final Events in World History, and Then Sings My Soul. He also serves as Associate Pastor at World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro, TN.

We live in a world that is messed up and can tear a Christian down. Robert Morgan has written this book that goes through the book of Philippians and shows one how to stand STRONG in their faith even during difficult times. I really enjoy the easy to navigate format  of the book and the fact that the book is very encouraging. The book contains 31 short chapters and can be used as a devotional or as a group study. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone looking for a book that encourage one in their faith. GREAT BOOK!

USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR

From Harlequin Heartwarming: Wholesome stories of love, compassion and belonging.

I really enjoy a good Romance book and I also enjoy Harlequin Heartwarming books. Cari Lynn Webb has become a favorite author of mine for this Brand. The Rancher's Secret Crush by Cari Lynn Webb is the latest book that I have read. It is Book 6 in Three Springs, Texas series. I have read the other books in this series and I was anxiously anticipating this book!

A sweet and short romance book! Elise Parks comes to Three Springs to help her brother who is recuperating. She is happy to take care of her nieces, but running the Farm takes her for surprise. Ryan Sloan lives on the farm next door and he offers to help Elise learn how to take care of the farm. Elise grew up coming to visit the farm during the summers, but she prefers the City Life. Ryan Sloan was her "teenage crush" and he secretly had a crush on her. I LOVE how they worked together to keep her brothers Ranch running and their Relationship blossoms. They are both afraid to really grow the relationship because Elise will probably go back to the City or WILL SHE? The book is filled with Fun Memories, new love and friendships!  I Highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Contemporary Romance.  FANTASTIC BOOK!

Genre: Christian Fiction – Action/Adventure

Release Date: March, 2024

Arcon forsook his new life of adventure in the outside world to fulfill his destiny with ArcPoint. But the return to his forest home is short-lived—he and Ranger Dan have been called to Jerusalem to meet Central Authority and discover the fate of ArcPoint. A new adventure begins, starting with a round-the-world trip by tube train—something Arcon never thought possible. With its expanded cast of extraordinary characters and a fresh romance, Mojave Rock is the conclusion to the ArcPoint trilogy about reconciliation and truth replacing fear and suspicion.

Christian Fiction is a favorite genre of mine. I also like reading books from authors that are new to me. Mojave Rock by JW Gilbert fits both of these situations. It is Book 3 in the ArcPoint Series. I have not read the first 2 in this series, but I was not completely lost while reading Book 3.

I will admit the book started out a little slow and I almost didn't continue reading. I think it is because I did not read the first 2 books in the series. I am glad I did continue reading as once I got to Chapter 3, I started really getting into the story. Arcon and Dan are the main characters in this book and they are very intriguing characters. Their adventures throughout the book kept me captivated, especially when they are called to Jerusalem. Arcon has a romantic interest in Elaine and I truly enjoyed their story and growing relationship. Dan and Arcon's adventures and friendship is also a wonderful part of this story. The book is one of hope, faith, and reconciliation.  I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Fiction. It does have a STRONG fiction aspect. Good Book!

John Gilbert Wozniak (JW Gilbert) grew up in an Oregon farm town. He retired in 2016 as an international data center cooling expert. Around the turn of the century, he began writing as a hobby. After years of expert guidance and a lot of editing, his ArcPoint trilogy is complete. His intent is to write books that are enjoyed by all ages—biblically accurate—with a touch of adventure, romance, and humor. JW has been married to his best friend Darlene since 1980. They are both retired and enjoy the hobby of creating lapidary jewelry. He is a member of Oregon Christian Writers, Mensa, ALLi, and the Tualatin Valley Gem Club.

More from JW

The ArcPoint trilogy finally reaches its conclusion with Mojave Rock. I ramp up the humor and romance a little, just to make it interesting. A few of the minor characters play a larger role. We get to see how Arcon travels around the world without floating on water or flying through the air. And we get a glimpse of what this world is like with the Prince of Peace ruling the planet.

I also move more toward science fiction with Mojave Rock. I wanted to show how mankind cleaned up our planet, after the tribulation era gave us wars, earthquakes, famines, and other forms of death and destruction. When lawlessness made all of us want to hide as ArcPoint did. As technology helped us, there were always people who used it to harm us.

It was fun to contemplate how accident-free high-speed travel could be accomplished. How could we use it to feed the world? In fact, what would world travel be like without war zones, national borders, corrupt government officials, currency exchange, pickpockets, and terrorists? Can you imagine retail stores without shoplifters? Email without spam? Facial recognition without invasion of privacy? No frauds, scammers, or identity thieves? All of that may sound like heaven, but it’s not. That’s another time and place.

So, how will ArcPoint react to connecting with the outside world again? They were already free of the things listed above. World peace didn’t concern them, since inner peace was a common commodity. Will they leave their oasis in the former desert? Will their community be overrun with strangers? Will Arcon and Elaina marry? It’s worth reading Mojave Rock to find out.
