Ready To Ditch Selling Using Fear, Hype, and Ick? And Instead Learn To Write Copy That Attracts, Inspires and Invites Your Ideal Clients Into Your Business?

In Michele's first book, "Love-Based Copywriting Method," she walks you through why traditional marketing and copy sells with fear (which is why it feels so awful) and how you can sell and market your business with love instead.

In this book, "Love-Based Copywriting System," Michele rolls up her sleeves and walks you through her exact system that she has used over the years to help her clients build successful businesses and get their work out into the world in a big, love-based way.

You're going to get the nitty gritty on what you need to do to write love-based copy. It includes step-by-step exercises, templates for the different promotional pieces (such as the copy you would use on a website or an email), a love-based tips section to take the teachings deeper and even advanced copy training for those who have mastered the basics.

This book is perfect if you're new to writing copy or are looking to improve your skills (and results) with your marketing pieces.

A USA Today Bestselling, award-winning author, Michele taught herself to read at 3 years old because she wanted to write stories so badly. It took some time (and some detours) but now she does spend much of her time writing stories. Mystery stories, to be exact. They're clean and twisty, and range from psychological thrillers to cozies, with a dash of romance and supernatural thrown into the mix. If that wasn't enough, she posts lots of fun things on her blog, including short stories, puzzles, recipes and more, at MPWNovels.com.

Michele grew up in Wisconsin, (hence why all her books take place there), and still visits regularly, but she herself escaped the cold and now lives in the mountains of Prescott, Arizona with her husband and southern squirrel hunter Cassie.

When she's not writing, she's usually reading, hanging out with her dog, or watching the Food Network and imagining she's an awesome cook. (Spoiler alert, she's not. Luckily for the whole family, Mr. PW is in charge of the cooking.)

Oooof. This was such a blast from the past - and I don't mean that in a good way.

These are all techniques I used to use to write copy for clients in the early days of my business, but they just feel... uncomfortable now. Granted, a part of that is Ms PW's unfortunate habit of using weight loss copy in her examples, which just naturally makes the copy feel slimy and fear-based (seriously: if you're trying to show examples of love-based copywriting, don't include messages that promote disordered eating, body dysphoria and fat-phobic stigma).

And part of it is the flawed assumption that the person selling whatever the product is CAN guarantee results to a reader just because they've managed to get them for other previous customers, so it's OK to sell based on that assumption.

I did like that she actively recognised that it's genuinely OK for people to decide they don't want to buy - that's something I don't see enough copywriting training providers acknowledge. But it felt like the one bright point amongst a sea of of ick, and that's a big part of why I switched from copywriting to editing in the first place.

Glad I've got the book off my TBR pile, but this isn't a topic I want to read more about in future.

well, the woman can certainly sell herself and her book and I bought it. She has great credentials and knows how to put her pros in words. So yes, she knows about copywriting. Unfortunately I didn't find the writing or copy writing examples in this book very inspiring. Or perhaps it's a cultural thing. I like my copy a bit more subtle and less cliché. And perhaps with a touch of humor or personality?
There are some good lessons in here but it is very basic. 1,5 stars.
