Share your startup and I will think of a side-tool that you can build to drive more growth!

One "growth hack" for startup founders is to build side tools that are going to provide extra value for FREE for potential customers.

I have built more than 20 side-tools in the last few years, that successfully brought indirect traffic to our core products. + If you utilize no-code tools you can save a lot of time and build these side tools. The build process is usually between 6 hours to couple of days, depending on your no-code skills.

For example, when I was working for a Tecg HR agency, we created a mini-shop for stickers. We gave-away the first 800 stickers for free.

Marketing cost: ~ $300.
Signed up users: 1200.
Tools used: Webflow.
Time to build: 5 hour.

But, anyways - I would love to help you out! Share your startup and I will think of a side-tool that you can build to drive more growth!

Let's goooo

EDIT: Thank you for the enormous interest! I promise I'll give ideas to everyone who posted!

I have a service that is totally FREE for job seekers called Topline Resumes.

Would be interesting to see your take on how to grow it.

    1. 3

I really like the idea of identifying in-demand skills. One side tool that you can create is a in-demand skills calculator. Not sure if there is available data on this, but I see that you also have other job boards that are quite big - so maybe you have more data on this. The calculator can calculate how much can you earn in a specific location for those in-demand skills that you have. Then launch it on Product Hunt and Hacker News and link back to your core product on how to incorporate these skills in your resume and earn more $ :)

      1. 3

Thank you, @anita_kirkovska! You have just validated my next feature!!

I can actually show related in-demand skills and would probably take me a day or two to implement.

I will deploy it next week and get back here for an update.

        Thanks again!

Hi Anita, I'm building a remote web3 job board (https://remote3.co) with Bubble.

    1. 3

I actually used your job board once and it helped us find a community manager, so thanks, you're doing a great job 🔥

      1. 3

Thanks 🙏 I’m glad remote3 could help you hire. Can I use this as testimonial in the website?

Hi Anita! Thank you for taking the time to brainstorm with us!

We're building Plaan (https://plaanadventures.com) - travel planner for the day to help find a quick answer to "What's the plan?" and get out of the door within minutes.

    1. 1

Hey! You can create a to-do travel checklist side-tool. You can break it down to have a to-do for when you go on a short trip, nature trip, plane trip etc.. It can include different things. If you go on a road trip, you need to think smart in terms of clothes. If you go on a 20 hour trip, you need to think of putting that underwear or hygiene kit in the carryon, jus to be safe in the case of lost luggage. Then within these checklists the last step can be: "Ok you got there! Now "What's the plan". Let us help you plan your day in [insert place] ". Hope that this is useful!

      1. 2

Simple, directly and logically connects the users to the main solution - love it! Thank you so much for brainstorming on this :)

        1. 1

Glad that this was useful for you! I share more ideas and insights from my experience on Twitter! Let's connect! https://twitter.com/anitakirkovska

Hey Anita, thanks for doing this. The sidegig I'm working on is https://www.happilyremote.com. It's a job board that simplifies the job hunting process through smart matching and automations

    1. 1

Hey! One thing that you can build is a curated list of tools that remote workers can't live without. Then launch it on Product Hunt - Perfect place for this product. People love curated lists and will check it out. You can then link it back to your product and drive some indirect traffic!

    Thank you for the interest

    Hey Anita,

    https://apisec-inc.github.io/pentest/

I build a no-code, free, and instant API penetration testing tool for developers and early-stage startups.

Most young teams don't do any security testing of their API/Apps because they lack the skills, and hiring an external company can cost several thousand.

I did some blog posts on IH, HN, etc. So far got decent traction. I love your thoughts here on how to promote.

I appreciate any help you can provide!

Hi Anita. What an awesome offer! I run a popular solitaire website - https://online-solitaire.com/ - and I've been dying to find tools that I can build that people can use. I've built a solitaire embed generator - https://online-solitaire.com/embed - but if you have any other ideas for tools or ideas for improvements on the embed generator, I'd love to hear them! Keep up the good work 🙂.

    Hey Anita,

I am building a fitness photo tracker application.

The goal is to motivate others and ourselves to stay on the path of fitness by helping people to document their fitness progress and to generate videos of them.

The mobile app is released and is available in both Google and Apple store links at https://shaperoute.com/

    Thanks

    Hi Anita,

Greetings, this is Bala here, my startup is related to movie industry, I am planning to build a unified movie discovery and recommender platform, we are building a solution that addresses a problem affecting millions of people, our platform will be both web and mobile-based.

My business idea is already proven successful by two players in the market who are having 25 million users and making profits, but I will be offering more features than them. My unified movie discovery and recommender platform will have the following 3 key features in it.

1.Streaming availability - this feature provides unified guide to all the streaming services(OTT platforms) available in the user's respective country.

2.Personalised movie / TV show recommendations.

3.Showtimes - this feature will help users locate which movie is playing in which theatres on a particular day in their respective town or city.

Product is under development and the beta version will be launched soon in few weeks, my product can be launched in 50 countries quickly.

Do you suggest any side tools for my product to drive more growth.

    Best Regards.

  14. 1

    Thanks for offering this!

    https://myperfectjob.club/

The opposite of a job board, an ideal role board for product people (but no reason any job title couldn't use this).

The target audience is anyone looking for a role that more lines up with what they feel motivates them (company, role, business type, company values, etc.) and then recruiters or people hiring.

Hye Anita, thanks for creating this thread and throwing such an opportunity.

We've soft-launched our software as a service product Curatora.io - A content curation and social media publishing tool.

Would like to know your thoughts on how to grow a SaaS product like this?

  16. 1

Great initiative Anita! Here you have my startup: https://yepcode.io/
It's an integration & automation SaaS for developers, like a "Zapier on steroids". I say it's for developers because you need to write JavaScript code, so it's oriented to complex integrations, so you can have more flexibility than no-code tools.
    Thank you!!

general feedback about your app: the landing page copy is very vague. I couldn't understand what the tool does, or who is it built for.

generally, for these productivity tools that integrate with a lot of famous tools - I'd recommend researching a lot of long-tail keywords and writing a lot of content around it. For inspiration, see what Zapier is doing with their content.

  45. 1

    Hey Anita!

here's something we are building and would love your input
    https://trycasa.app/

    1. 1

Research through these tools on PH: https://www.producthunt.com/search?q=community. Learn what other people have published.

Consolidate all that knowledge and build a very useful educational and actionable resource for people who struggle to build their community. Then sell it on Gumroad, and ship it on Product Hunt.

  46. 1

    Hi, Anita
I read your post and found it very informative. It's very helpful for us. Thank you.

    1. 1

      thank you! happy to help.

PS: let's connect on twitter: https://twitter.com/anitakirkovska

    1. 1

since you're building a tool for Twitter, I am going to take a guess and say that you know how to build an audience on Twitter. if that's the case then you should definitely create a lot of educational content on how to grow your Twitter audience. You can create a swipe file and sell it on Gumroad

  47. 1

    Hi Anita,

Thanks for the post. I am working on https://piptrends.com for comparing python packages downloads and GitHub Statistics. I built it because Whenever I do research on which python package I need to use for a project I need to check multiple places to finalize it so thought of putting all those things in a single place. Inspired by http://npmtends.com.

I want to get feedback from the python developers but don't know where to start and how to get it. Reached out to multiple people for feedback but didn't get any feedback so far.

Can you suggest me a path

    1. 1

How do you find these developers right now?

      1. 1

@anita_kirkovska : That's the main problem. Where to start. I built based on my struggle. Went to a couple of forums and asked the feedback mostly moderators of the forums said it's an advertisement and they are removing the message :(

  48. 1

Hi Anita, thanks for doing this - I've read about side-tools here on IH, and have since told friends/family about it. I'd really value your help!

I'm building Joyfully, which is a marketplace where users have caring conversations with essential workers and mental health enthusiasts.

    1. 2

love your app. Do you create a lot of content around mental health? If not, please start!

Here are some ideas for side tools:

Self-care practice tips tool - include activities, drinks, food, and habits
Self-Reminder tool - collect email addresses, and ping people daily with a self-care idea
Couples self-care accountability tool - for couples to remind each other and keep each other accountable when they build self-care routines (this can be one vertical to focus on within the app itself)

      Hope these helps!

      1. 1

That is phenomenal. Thank you so much for this!

  49. 1

Hello Anita, I'm working on metricsbeam.com, a place where businesses can connect their services and view everything in one dashboard.

    1. 1

publish templates for the tools that integrate well with the dashboard. You can have

      • churn data notebook
      • follow up email conversion
      • % of sales goals achieved

publish them on Twitter or ship it as a curated directory on Product hunt

  50. 1

Thanks for doing this Anita. I built http://quickintro.co/ for people to make quick double opt-in introductions without any friction.

    1. 1

how about a tool that lets you generate a short link with your professional info, and folks can use it as their online business card?

  51. 1

Outdone is aiming to transform the way people shop for gifts by making it a quick, stress-free process. I'd love your growth advice!

    www.outdone.io

    1. 1

a tool where folks sign up with their emails, and you send them 2 or 3 active discounts per week to online e-commerce stores.

  52. 1

Hi Anita, awesome idea. My startup is https://www.socialintents.com - Website Live Chat for Teams, Slack, Webex, and Zoom.

    1. 1

You can create side-tools targeting specific tools that you highlighted like teams, slack.. etc. But target marketers/sales folks (guessing this is your target group). For Slack, you can create a list of Marketing communities to join. For Zoom, you can create cool backgrounds for sales folks. The goal is that you're going to attract the right people who use these tools and then cross-promote your tool.

      1. 2

        Thanks - great idea!

  53. 1

My startup, Veriply, helps small business owners make sense of their accounting data with actionable insights and recommendations to improve their cashflows. Our product is a plug-in for major accounting software (i.e, QuickBooks Online).

    1. 1

Cool! Maybe you can create a comparison tool for accounting software only. That way you can plug in your tool as a recommendation if the software doesn't support actionable insights!

  54. 1

    Hi Anita. Great idea.

I would love to know your thoughts about this idea:
    https://writing9.com

    Thank you ahead of time!

    1. 2

Not sure about a side tool, but as a "side activity", you can definitely answer questions on Quora. When I was taking my GRE and IELTS tests, I got my questions answered by random people on Quora. I think that you can find your target audience (students) there!

  55. 1

    Awesome idea Anita!

Here's my startup nuelink.com a social media automation and scheduling tool for busy entrepreneurs.

    1. 1

Ha, I love your tool! I sent it to two social media folks! Btw, you can create a lot of value for busy entrepreneurs by publishing a list with free design illustrations, easy designing tools, and free photos. You'd be surprised how many founders still aren't aware of Canva for example or Pexels. Ship it on PH and get some traffic!

      1. 1

Great ideas, Thank you so much!

Will do try them out for sure - I've been considering a simple design tool for entrepreneurs (paste your link and get a social share image design).

        1. 1

          that would be awesome too!

  56. 1

Love the idea! And always open to feedback :)

    Here's our pitch:

Swag is a lot of fun.
    Sending it sucks.

At Slingshot, we handle literally every part of it for our customers—from design, manufacturing, storage, shipping, etc.

Right now, 85% of our sales come organically from Twitter, and we're working with customers from small NFT teams to giants like Adobe.

Interested in whatever feedback you have!

    1. 1

That's huge that you're working with a client like Adobe! I read about the successful giveaway - congrats!

Btw, if you decide to target NFT teams, maybe you can create a checklist for creating merch for your NFT project. From idea to material, design, and shipping. Tools they can use, companies to collaborate with (plug in Slingshot) about shipping, packaging etc. Also, provide some % for Slignshot when you're at it!

  57. 1

    Hello Anita,

    Thanks for creating this thread!
We're looking for different ways to grow our SaaS products.
I'd like to ask you for a piece of advice for our invoicing tool: https://saldoinvoice.com/.

    1. 2

How about building something that will highlight the top things that a founder should know about accounting? You can summarize it, but you can also add some links with useful resources to read from.

      1. 1

Thanks for your insight. It is very useful!
If you don't mind, please take a look on our "second child" here: https://orty.io/. It's a multipurpose management system for SMBs (mainly retails and restaurants).

  58. 1

I'm building a service for local barbershops to collect reviews (Google, Facebook, etc.) via QR scans, text messages and email. Any ideas?

  59. 1

    Hey anita,

Funnily enough, I just logged in here to find someone to ask what extra tools they think I could build into my digital loyalty platform for independent coffee shops.

Currently have stamp system, subscription system, in-app notifications and email marketing system that are all tools that allow coffee shops to target their userbase.

    1. 1

So tell me first if I am understanding this right: Are you asking about what kind of side tool (in this case internal tool) can you build within your loyalty platform to engage your customers' customers even more? :))

      1. 1

Yes, essentially an 'internal' tool to help our customers (coffee shops) further engage their customers (their coffee shops customers or potential customers). :)

  60. 1

Hey Anita! I'm Serge, Head of E-commerce Projects at WeLoveNoCode. Within the company, I recently (a week ago) launched a new program for e-commerce founders: https://www.welovenocode.com/ecommerce. Before that, I was building an e-commerce startup myself, so it seems to me like such service would be super-valuable.

We've tried Google Ads (Search and Display), currently not doing too good. Preparing a ProductHunt launch this week, building up a community in advance.

If you have some ideas on how to reach e-commerce founders with some side tools, that would be just awesome!

    Thanks a lot! Cheers!

    1. 2

Have you tried creating some educational content? That's probably what I would do for a business like this.

    2. 1

absolutely love your work! Happy to jump on a call to brainstorm more ideas for ads or side-tool ideas!

One thing that comes to mind: Have you tried to add a theme or an app to Shopify: https://shopify.dev/? You can easily onboard a lot of folks who are already struggling with Shopify.

Also, if you focus on dropshipping maybe create a page with hot products at the moment for dropshippers. Maybe collect emails and send one product per week to subscribers. And then offer your services.

      Hope this helps!

  61. 1

I'm a big fan of using free tools as a strategy to grow your app. To grow T.LY URL Shortener, I've used multiple tools such as a browser extension, QR Code Generator, and URL Decoder. As a developer, building software tools is a great way to combine marketing and development.

Curious if anyone has any ideas about software tools that coincide with a URL shortener?

    1. 1

how about a tool to make links longer? 😄

      1. 2

Haha, I bet that would get some traffic. I've seen something similar as a joke.

        1. 1

you should try it! 😄 I assume it will be easy for you to make it

  62. 1

Interesting thread. I'm really curious what you'll come up with for mine.

    1. 2

Logo generator and then you can use the result and plug it into your PWA icon generator to get the different sizes?

    2. 1

Not a side tool but I'd definitely post a lot more content on Twitter. The no-code community is very vibrant there and you can engage a lot of people to use your tool.

And honestly, educating them about what PWA is and how it can help them convert a standard Bubble app to a PWA with native components would be very useful.

  63. 1

    Hello Anita,

Thank you very much for your post. I currently have a company in the wellness, we set up sports and massages in companies.

Also, we set up trainings around health prevention.
I'm looking for a small project to develop that could bring value to my customers and train me to code (I'm learning since January).

I was thinking about a registration management tool to simplify the organization of wellness activities in companies for example.

https://teamupp.fr/ (the site is in French)

    Thanks again for your help,
    Have a good day

    1. 2

you can create a simple website where your customers can signup to receive daily tips about wellness and reminders to "sit right" or smth. You can send these tips daily on their phones/email addresses. You will bring them constant value and hopefully they would like to interact with you more

      1. 2

Thank you Anita, it's a very nice idea ! And it's less diffuclt than my other idea. I'm going to study this and go for it. Thank's a lot, have a nice day

Great idea. Would love to know what you would do for this idea:

Great idea Anita! Thanks for doing this :).

Useful templates for Airtable, Webflow, Notion, Google Sheets, etc.? You could then explain to users how to sync the data in them using Whalesync.

      1. 3

Love it! Great idea. Thank you!

        1. 1

You're welcome! If you implement it, please let me know. :)

      2. 2

        love it too! greaaat idea

  66. 1

Thanks for posting Anita! I published https://productdiv.com/ this week and would love some feedback (still need to work on some marketing pages). It's a tool for web developers to build UIs faster. I think there are a lot of opportunities to use it for driving growth, but I'd love some more ideas!

    1. 2

1 click reusable pages for your next project. Pre-built these pages with your product and let folks use them as templates. But publish it as a curated list of pages that they can just click and edit.

      you can have:

      • high converting landing pages
      • marketplace homepage
      • SaaS homepage
      • creators community page
      • consultancy business etc...
      1. 2

        Thanks for the idea!

        1. 1

My pleasure! Did we connect on Twitter?

  67. 1

Recently started hacking on https://crafty.fourfifteen.studio! It’s a smart Figma plugin that can help designers write better UX copy in their designs! You can even select the tone you want (like “playful” or “formal”)

Just finished building a v0 for this and shared with a few designer friends. Would be curious how you’d grow this. :)

    1. 2

Collection of sites with amazing copy to use as inspiration?

    2. 2

Could you make a web version as a free resource that lets people try the product and use the output X times for free? That gives people the ability to use your product, see the value, and can be used as a lead funnel.

Building tweetsy.io helping makers grow their audience on twitter

    1. 2

create a tool where I can highlight my best-performing tweets and threads. a home page for my best performing tweets that I can share as "knowledge packs" to folks!

      1. 1

        Sounds great, thank you Anita!

        1. 1

awesome! Let's connect on twitter: https://twitter.com/anitakirkovska

PS: Let me know if you implement the idea 🥳

  69. 1

I am working on hazell.io right now. Any tips / feedback would come in handy :)

    1. 2

interesting so your product is targeting the SaaS customers or the SaaS founders? Didn't really get that from your landing page?

      1. 1

The idea is to target companies, for example https://veganz.com could be a target company. The idea is they can increase sales by riding the "sustainable" brand wave. I am trying desperately to get more interview with potential companies to validate the thesis. But it is quite hard to get to know people in the US from Argentina.

        1. 1

okay cool - then maybe you can create a side tool for THEIR customers.

Call it: "Yes, Saastainable". Description: Ping your fave SaaS and let them know that you want to see more climate change action.

You can highlight some of the most famous tools, and let people vote.

Let's say that 100 Slack users voted that they want to see transparent carbon footprint data and action to reduce it. You then reach out to someone at Slack ( might be someone from RevOps) and say: hey, your users want to learn more about your carbon footprint...

Might give you an edge over the competition!

also, you can use no-code tools like Webflow/Bubble/Notion to build this site!

          Hope this helps!

          1. 1

Sounds interesting. It can definitely be made with Bubble I suppose. The thing is how would you target those initial users?

            1. 1

Build it in public on Twitter and then Ship it on Product Hunt!

              1. 1

That sound like a good strategy. Any advice on building in public in Twitter? I have a profile @gegenschatz_s but I doubt it will be able to reach many folks haha :)

                1. 1

Try and follow folks who already build in public and engage with them in the comments. Then learn what they do and mimic, and just be genuine and share updates.

                  1. 1

Great! I ´ve followed both you and @thiiskp_
Hope you follow me back so I can start building a fanbase jaja

                  2. 1

Sound like reasonable advice. Do you know any folks building in public I should begin with? I am new in this world and do not know many people yet

                    1. 2

Yeah let's connect on Twitter, and feel free to check everyone that I follow! https://twitter.com/anitakirkovska

Interested to hear what you have to say about https://acrobox.io, a PaaS for solo indie hackers. There are basically two parts of my service. The initial infrastructure provisioning which carries a lot of value and then continued and expanding service for deploying and maintaining applications. They are priced together for now.

    1. 2

since you target indie hackers and you provide infrastructure for fast app creation, maybe you can create an idea/tool generator for indie hackers. Add the industry, experience, domain, etc... and the tool can generate an idea. You can cross-promote your product as a way for them to actually build that tool

      1. 2

Thanks for your time --- not just with mine but I've read through many other replies and learned from your thought process.

        1. 1

Very happy to read that this is useful for you guys!

  71. 1

Mine is called Would You Do It For A Dollar?

In simple terms: people can visit your profile and ask "would you _____ for a dollar?", like "chug a beer", "prank call your friend", "dance in public"... Then you fulfill the request and earn $1.

    https://wouldyoudoitforadollar.com/

    1. 3

Collection of the weirdest requests that were fulfilled for $1? A best of?

      1. 2

Cool, but first I need to have any fulfilled requests :D

      2. 2

haha love this one! I would click!

  72. 1

Hey Anita, this is awesome, thanks for doing this!

Currently working on https://merchdigs.com/ which is a p2p marketplace for records/media/band merch. This "itch" came to me after I struggled searching for items on things like depop and ebay. Eventually, the goal would be to sell to record shops to give them a way to sell directly to people interested in certain music.

    1. 1

I think that there are a lot of questions about buying band merch on Quora. Check these :
      https://www.quora.com/Whats-the-best-site-to-buy-band-tshirts
      https://www.quora.com/Why-is-it-very-difficult-to-buy-rock-band-t-shirts-online-in-india
Utilize Quora for your business, and answer relevant questions. Remember not to self-promote too much. If you post 5 times a day on Quora, make it so that only 1 or 2 of your answers have self-promotion.

      Hope this helps!

  73. 1

Thanks for doing this! My product is https://www.reschedule.app. A calendar for team leaders who spend their day running meetings.

    1. 2

maybe create a list of online games that a remote team can play. Ship it on ProductHunt. Let people signup and send them one idea per week. Hopefully, people that work iN TEAMS will sign up, and you can cross-promote reschedule to them or just ask for feedback and learn from them.

  74. 1

Love that you're doing this! Thank you ahead of time!

Simple, customizable, productivity timer for minimalist: https://timeva.app

    Lmk what you think 💚

    1. 2

Try to find a niche target group and create a lot of content for them. For example, developers. Focus on creating content for them around productivity + mental health.

  75. 1

VtuberDM - a online marketplace for requesting personalized video messages from vtubers.

    1. 1

not sure I get the idea - can you give me more info

      1. 1

Think of it like Cameo but exclusively for vtubers

    Hi Anita,

I have 2 iOS Apps (side projects) that I created for stock market research based on my work for institutional investors. My customer base are retail investors that use bare-bones trading apps (ex:RobinHood) without access to research .

Company 360: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/company-360/id1464857130 (Find undervalued stocks using Value Investing strategy).

Super Investor: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/super-investor/id1441737952 (Analysis of what institutional investors own vs. retail sentiment vs. short interest).

    1. 1

You can utilize visualization apps like https://flourish.studio/ and create some graphics with your analysis. Then you can share these accross channels. Maybe twitter + Linkedin are the best for you

  77. 1

I'm building https://www.dev-box.app/ an offline toolbox for developers which contain a lot of small useful tools.

As a complete marketing noob 😅 I'm curious on how it can be marketed.

    1. 1

wow - I love the cheat sheet lists! I can imagine that this is super useful for developers.

1st assumption: I guess that you target busy developers, who may have a full time + part time job (or two or more full time jobs lol) and who are at least intermediates, and generate enough $ to be able to purchase the tool.

2nd Assumption: If they work remotely, they may be burned out, or isolated. That's one pain point that you can target with your side tool.

You can build a tool around mental health or exercising, specific to tech people. Simple things like curated list of resources and best practices. It can be a chrome extension that are going to remind them once a day to take a break off-screen.

but how about this: A desktop app that can check your calendar for meetings, the weather report, important events and can freeze your screen for 20 min and show interesting messages like "Weather is nice - go take a walk", or "You hardworking human, go take some time off" or smth. I guess this will fit your skills best, as you're developer an may be able to build this real fast!

      Hope that this helps!

        1. 1

was this useful for you? Let me know!

          1. 1

Yes, you gave me some ideas :) Unfortunately I don't have much time to implement them :D

  78. 1

Very curious to hear what you think:

https://companies.tools – it's where tech companies share their tool stacks which creates verified "used by" connections instead of random logos on landing pages.

    1. 0

maybe you can build a collection of pages that nail the social proof on their website. Showcase it on Twitter and if there is a lot of content maybe you can publish it as a standalone website!

  79. 1

I've already got a few different side-tool ideas, but I'm curious to hear yours!

https://podqueue.fm - "Listen Later" for audio on the web

    1. 1

good, so you're thinking about side-tool led growth - love that!

      Let's see..

If you target people who want to start listening to podcasts:

You can create a tool that recommends a podcast based on your interests. You can let people choose from a list of keywords like mindfulness, tech, progressive, etc. That's an obvious one.

But let's say that we want to make it fun and interesting.

Then you can play with the approach a bit more.

      • A tool that recommends a podcast based on your favorite coffee! You don't drink coffee at all and only consume matcha? The Tim Ferris show is a #1 podcasts you should listen to! 😄
      1. 2

Great idea, thanks! I can already think of a few different directions I could take it in… 🤔

        1. 1

Happy to be helpful! If you want to hear more ideas, let's connect on twitter. I share more insights from my journey as an entrepreneur. Also DMs are open, so feel free to follow up on this! https://twitter.com/anitakirkovska

Nice, curious what you would you do for hardcover.app - a social app for book discovery.

    1. 1

First, I need this! haha, I use Goodreads but I def think that there should be something better.

Second, first thing that comes to mind on how to grow your audience is if you start a newsletter that targets a specific niche. Let's say that you target founders. This might be a good fit for you as you're a founder + I guess you read a lot of books/have been reading a lot of books for business/leadership/motivation/wellness..etc :)) We've all done it!

So, this makes you qualified to write a newsletter on this topic. You can call it: "Distilled down" or "Book Club on the go".

A newsletter for time-starved entrepreneurs. Get your weekly shot of knowledge and insight, from top rated business, wellness, and leadership books!

This might need a bit more involvement, but I leave it up to you to decide if it's worth it! Hope that this was useful!

I'm building a productivity tool called FocusPlus, it's still in beta but i'm pretty curious to know what kind of side project you could think of

    1. 1

Might be out of the blue but the first thing that came up is that parents who work from home have more challenges than the rest of us. And so, maybe your first target to test a side-tool with can be working moms and dads. So for them, you can create productivity and meditations bundles that can help them throughout the day.

You can also have a productivity kit to read when you change your job. Productivity kit for new moms to help them keep your productivity but also have quality time with their baby. You can go in different directions and niches and test who have the biggest need to improve their productivity. You can create it as a swipe file, and update it based on feedback.

You can easily then link back to FocusPlus and drive indirect traffic back on your app :)

      1. 1

We recently started a US trademark search and tracking service. We collect info about the company's trademarks for many categories - https://markus.bot/class and provide some features to help businesses find what they need. So, would be interesting to know what you think about it. Thanks!
