Grimes Earns First No. 1 on Top Dance/Electronic Albums Chart With ‘Miss Anthropocene’

Plus, Jonas Blue and RetroVision rule Dance Club Songs.

Grimes garners her first No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart, as Miss Anthropocene opens atop the survey dated March 7 with 19,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

The unit sum is the highest for an album on the chart this year, and the best since Lindsey Stirling debuted at No. 1 with Artemis (earning slightly more units) on Sept. 21, 2019.

Miss Anthropocene is Grimes’ second top 10, after Visions (No. 8, 2012). The artist (born Claire Boucher) also places 10 tracks on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, including her first top 10, “You’ll Miss Me When I’m Not Around,” new at No. 10. The track earned most of its chart points from streaming, bringing in 1.1 million U.S. streams.

Plus, Grimes’ collaboration with i_o (aka Garrett Lockhart), “Violence,” re-enters Hot Dance/Electronic Songs at a new No. 19 high, sporting 815,000 domestic streams. The initial song released from the album began at No. 20 in September and had last charted in December.

Jumping to Dance Club Songs, English DJ Jonas Blue and French DJ RetroVision lift 2-1 with “All Night Long.” Blue’s seventh leader and RetroVision’s first, “Night” crowns the chart without the aid of official remixes.
