What are your goals for this week?

Mine

Share your goals in the comments. We will have a nice retro on Sunday 😅

  1. 6

I have many goals for this week.

First, I want to get more involved in the community by volunteering at a local food pantry. I know that there are people who need help and I want to do my part.

Second, I want to start working out again so that I can feel better about myself and be healthier.

Thirdly, I want to spend some time with my friends this week as well because they mean so much to me and they're always there when I need them.

    1. 2

Excellent on the food panty. My wife and I volunteered weekly at local food bank for years until we moved. The people in need felt so blessed to get the help is better than anything. One Russian grandma loved to flirt with me and give me baked cakes as I handed her oranges or carrots or whatever veg/fruit I was giving out. It was so adorable. My wife even asked if she should offer my phone number

There is nothing like helping out and giving back. And also meeting some fun smart-ass people doing the same thing you are. I made some great friends from the food bank I'm still friends with today.

Highly recommend you help out at the panty. Gotta go for a few weeks before people get comfortable with you but it's worth every second. Keep in mind we went once a week for 4 hours on a Wednesday morning. Then I'd go home, caffeine up and code.

    2. 1

You got amazing plans for the week! Hope everything will work out just fine

  2. 5

complete all of the goals left from the previous week + several goals marked for this one ;) hashtag procrastination... hah

    1. 2

Oh, old-fashioned leftover tasks. My favorite!

  3. 4

I am sick, therefore my goal for this week is to get better :)

Also the card payment terminal should arrive this week, so I am looking forward to that.

  4. 4

My main goal is to develop a more detailed marketing plan for BotMeNot, my latest project.

    1. 2

Do you also offer some kind of service for emails? Bot activity on my services is fine, but the bounce and spam markings on the welcome emails give me a bad rap at AWS. The only way I could tackle this, for now, was just stopping with the welcome emails.

      1. 1

        Hey, Arjen!

At the moment no, but I'll definitely add it to the list of things I can work on!

I do take this kind of feedback very seriously and it's how I've decided on adding the API test.

I'll make sure to ping you back once I have something!

        1. 1

Cool, thanks. An other angle might be bot detection in general. Like I said, having bots on my services is fine, but it would be nice to be able to detect them, by the way they behave, compared to human behavior.

Sure, you can contact me any time.

          Cheers

    2. 2

Sounds like a great product. I like the "How it works" section. This is helpful for those who may not even know what bots are. Nice job!

By the way, I'm also looking for feedback on AnyGo, a tool used to compare flying and driving costs. Here's the link: www.anygo.info

      1. 1

        Hey DCodes!
        Some thoughts:

        1. An autocomplete on the location field would be awesome
        2. In the "result" screen, the third block looks out of place, since the first two are options and the third isn't
        3. I love the Google map - that's really cool!
        4. If you could explain somehow the calculation that would be helpful. If you think it might hurt user experience, you can hide it in a collapsible element

Also, check out https://www.useronboard.com/user-onboarding-teardowns/ - it's a fun way to think about user journeys, especially onboarding

Awesome idea, good luck and keep us posted :)

        1. 1

Thanks for your help! Explaining the calculations is a feature I'm still trying to figure how to implement, and at the same time keep a clean UI and UX. Still learning!

      2. 1

        Hey, thanks a lot!

I've checked out your website and I think it's clear about what it does, and I generally do quite like it! However, there are a couple of things that caught my eye:

        • Maybe should make the color of the inactive section (Your trip details & Results) slightly darker, it's kinda difficult to see it at first

        • The form fields could be ever so slightly taller

        Good luck!

        1. 1

That's a good idea. Thank you for letting me know.

    3. 1

      Cool name :)

      Was the domain still available?

    4. 1

Nice goal! Will you share it on Indie Hackers?

      1. 1

Thanks! Not sure, to be honest, still thinking about it!

        1. 1

          Would glad to read!

  5. 4

Get some deep work in on my first mini-book.

Everything else will be a nice-to-have.

    1. 2

      Sounds great! What's it about?

      1. 2

It teaches designers how to connect the dots between their design work and the business impact in ways that help them win clients and get hired. Thanks for asking :)

        1. 1

          Good luck with it!

    2. 1

      That's cool. Good luck!

  6. 3

Surviving another week without sending a resignation letter, and code refactoring! Specifically, I've built my own blender plugin to make export compatible with what my game expects. I am going to work on the code side and make things a lot nicer and easy to use.

  7. 2

10 more active users – 8 so far – so far so good!

  8. 2

My goal for this week is to continue creating content for my website that will help people down the line (once I have a good amount of content in general).

Procrastination evolves in truly interesting ways lol.

    1. 1

Can you show us your website? What kind of content are you working on?

      1. 1

        So my website is

        https://passivexp.com/

where I work on creating solutions to help people gain solid skills that can be then used to generate passive income.

I also have been working on a number of books and courses. Here's one that I just finished on communication:

        https://nikolassmith.gumroad.com/l/think-do-guide

  9. 2

Launch on Product Hunt today, which I’ve completed! 😄

    https://www.producthunt.com/posts/immersive-communities

  10. 2

Prepping for the Product Hunt launch for sprints.design, and closing in some clients for my freelance business :)

  11. 2

My partner is out of town for a business trip in New York.

My goal is mainly to enjoy the kids and make sure we're all doing well.

If I can tackle a few things with WebLime (agency) and Limey that would be a plus! :)

  12. 2

Restarting my email newsletter, let's see how many unsubscribes I can get after having it lay dormant for two years ;-)

    1. 1

      You got this! Good luck

      1. 2

Oh, I’m sure it will, and it’s a good thing to feel a little bit of anxiety before hitting publish on a newsletter that means you care about your readers' precious inbox. Thankfully not starting from scratch as well so that’s a good thing.

        Onwards and upwards!

  13. 2

Find 10 potential customers to sell https://monitup.com!

    1. 3

Based on the landing page I have serious ethical concerns with that product. I personally wish you success, but I hope the "success" moves you away from such an invasive product idea...

      1. 1

Thank you for sharing your ideas. If this product was yours, how would you prefer to change this product? What new features would you add?

        1. 2

The whole idea of the product is unethical to me. Monitoring your employees like they're slaves is a problem. Spying on browser history, logging their keystrokes and which apps they use is pretty terrible.

Again, I wish for your personal success, but I hope you find it with a different product.

          1. 1

I'm also an employee, I think the real slavery: we have to be in the office at 8:00 am and 6:00 pm and we have to work :)

So we are already slaves, this is nothing new. In my opinion, freedom is being able to do what you want job, when you want, where you want, with whoever you want.

    2. 1

Make it 20! Good luck 😅

      1. 2

Haha I think it's time to start email marketing :D I find the CEOs and General Managers of companies working remotely from LinkedIn and send them a link invitation that includes product promotion. So it goes a little slow. But I'll still try 20 😅

  14. 2

My plan for this week is to fight procrastination ))

    1. 1

Procrastination has no chance. Good luck!

  15. 2

Commiting to quite a major UX change and tweak to my value prop after lots of reddit user 1:1s.

Changing flowful.app from a pick-your-song Spotify / Apple music style to more of an internet radio that suggests music for you.

    1. 1

Sounds like a good idea! What makes your product different from Spotify and Apple as they also suggest music based on preferences?

By the way, I'm also looking for feedback on AnyGo, a tool used to compare flying and driving costs. Here's the link: www.anygo.info

    2. 1

      Sounds great! Good luck!

  16. 2

    For http://topapr.com

    • Add some documentations & tutorial for new users.
    • Use moralis API to update tokens more frequently.
    • Bootstrapping for DAO feature.
    1. 1

      Wonderful. Let's go!

  17. 2

Finish my project's Press Release, publish it, unban our ad account on Twitter and run awareness ads for video views

    1. 1

Awareness ads for startups sound risky! Anyway, good luck with that!

      1. 1

You think? Interesting! How would you maximize awareness of a video using Twitter ads on a limited budget ($200-$300/month)?

  18. 2

My goal for this week is to find IT professionals to answer the questions in the Google form.
By the way, if there are any IT experts here, I would be glad if you will help me:
    https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfqRAfLAE1Iu9NA_JcMXFzLYz5uurdHDcWJ4ctZh-TRkZnZaw/viewform?usp=sf_link
Have a productive week, everyone! 🤗

    1. 2

      Good luck with your research!

  19. 2

This week I am working on the launch strategy for this startup: https://codetruck.io/

  20. 2

I have to add more roles for the Writing Assistant feature for https://www.resumemaker.online/

    1. 1

      Impressive! Good luck

  21. 2

For Ditto, this week's goals are:

    • complete first 5 pieces of content for our "Break Up With Upwork" campaign (we have drafts)
    • post that content to our blog, and fix up the design on the blog, while I'm at it
    • identify at least 50 users on Upwork who might be good candidates to graduate (at least partially) off of Upwork to working directly with clients via Ditto
    1. 1

Animation is sick! Good luck :)

  22. 2

Taking the Javascript course will allow me to clear all the concepts I will learn and practice them more and apply what I have learned.

    1. 1

Learning is the first step to doing. Good for you!

  23. 2

    For https://www.vitaely.me/ :

    • Implement an easy way for users to give feedback
    • Write a blog post on Application Tracking Systems
    • Tidy up the main header (putting actions like log out and settings behind a dropdown)
    • Chat to a content partner about collaboration
    1. 2

check out canny.io for that first one. They have a generous free plan.

      1. 1

Ohh that looks like a great product (looks like a great business to run as well!)

For now I've just implemented a free text area and save the response in Firestore but the ability to update people when something is fixed or built sounds like a great way to boost engagement

        1. 1

I just started using it - really like it so far. The roadmap feature and the ability to calculate impact / estimate effort in the tool is really helpful for me and my team.

    2. 2

Good luck with achieving these goals!

    1. 1

Would you like to embed a contact us icon like in https://requestrabbit.com. It is also a carrd site.

    2. 1

Great! Do you have a Product Hunt release?

  24. 2

My goal for this week is to move away from Stripe. We want to start using bookkeeping software as a payment processor for backlink.nl. Although Stripe can be a great solution it's not the best case for our situation. It was so hard to keep our administration correct with Stripe payments.

    1. 2

      Good luck with that!

  25. 2

After many conversations on No More Mondays and on Twitter about the multiple projects vs single focus debate, I'm gearing up to put all my focus into PodPanda, my podcast editing service.

So thinking about my marketing funnel, increasing traffic and reaching out to any warm leads (or friends).

    1. 1

what were your general thoughts about multiple vs single project focus?

    2. 1

Smart choice! Would love to read about your marketing strategy

  26. 2

Finish my deeper market research for CatchTraq, to get closer to my MVP and know what my tasks are but more specifically what not to waste my time on. I'm currently in stealth.

Figured out from using CrunchBase, the big dog in my market had been on a big burn rate and may fizzle out.. 9 A serious rounds in 6 years from 8 VCs. I'm sure there was some angel money in there. Gives me hope. Their first mover advantage is disappearing. Plenty of other competition though.

There is space in many market's if you know the signs.

    1. 1

Sounds like an absolute game-changer. Good luck with that!

      1. 1

Opps.. I meant using CrunchBase to do market research. I didn't mean to compete with them. That would be a bit foolish.

  27. 2

My main goal is to launch (in beta) a new standalone product (under databloo.com), Ananlytics4now that uses GA4 data with the standard interface of Google Analytics. With this product, you can move to Google Analytics 4 with zero stress and take advantage of the seamless layout of Universal Analytics. Feel free to play around with it and let me know your thoughts: https://datastudio.google.com/u/0/reporting/9253d733-aeb9-4866-bb7a-fd68ad379d3e/page/eiIvB

    1. 2

      Make GA4 great again!

  28. 2

Launching Peerlist.io on Product Hunt tomorrow. Nervous and excited! Mixed feelings...

    1. 2

      This project seems very interesting.

      1. 1

Thanks @Cereal84 Do give it a spin! 😊

    2. 1

Looks stunning. Would love to upvote and join

      1. 1

        Thanks Dan! See you there...

  29. 1

Trying to reach first apha version of my WPA... after years of work...

  32. 1

    To keep pushing on.

  33. 1

I'm building a community of founders who do regular usability tests for each other. You do 3 tests per week, you get 3 tests per week. 12 people have committed to it. Next week is the first week of the program.

My goal this week is to make the first tests go well. I'll create a guide on
#1 how to write good scenarios
#2 how to be a good tester

And then I'll give them feedback on each step. That should do the trick :)

  34. 1

    My first two tasks:

I have just signed up to IndieHackers and this is my first post!
I have also just started tweeting!

You got my email on your waiting list - looks interesting!

I am now going to research what other maker communities I should be involved with.

  38. 1

Complete a UMAP plot of my data, get slides ready for a talk, get some sort of bug working on this psi4 python package, setup a non-profit, and take my undergrad to his amazon internship.

  39. 1

A couple of weeks ago, I obtained a copy of my scores from the 3 credit bureaus; they were in the 579 range, how pathetic. He says there was no way I could be granted a loan with such a score so he rather introduced me to a credit specialist. In a few weeks, the specialist deleted all items on my report and raised my score to a whopping 791 across all 3 bureaus and I got my loan after 4 days, very excited. fixmycredit at writeme dot com.

  40. 1

The main goal of this week is to have 2 meetings with angel-investors. It is my goal like CEO.

    Also:
    – Prepare new book (we have a publishing project).
    – Make a mainpage
    – Rich out new 10 costumers

  41. 1

Organizing new software projects that we will start next week, production releases and sea optimizations in e-commerce.

  45. 1

Launch Books Calculator, a tool to help you discover how many books you can read in a year with a daily habit.

It's in beta but if you're curious and want a try it, comment with a book emoji 📚 and I'll share the link :)

  46. 1

Get 25 more amazingly aligned members to our new CTC Circle Community : ) I'm incredibly happy with the quality of folks joining in our first week, and am committed to making it one of the best communities for coaches, course creators, and freelancers.

  47. 1

    Hey Dan!
Can you add Chainspy.net to your list?
We are not live yet but are launching in the coming months with free-to-use model on some cryptos.
We can even provide exclusive discounts to your users if that sounds interesting :).

My goal for this week is to get our new front end pages live and get some users signed up for our launch list!

  48. 1

To find out best and useful information

  49. 1

For me, get more people testing out https://opensource.voiceping.info (audio chat free sdk in android). Marketing open source is hard. Generally, marketing is hard. Keep up the spirit everyone!

main goal this week is to start getting some feedback and early interest for letterpoll, a tool to embed polls natively into emails. Mainly targeting people running email newsletters for now — keen for some feedback!

  51. 1

    2. Ship a couple more features to https://www.shopme.bio (product categories, background customization, dashboard improvements)
    3. Establish a solid relationship with my new growth oriented cofounder! I want to put together a solid set of goals to achieve together with them…any guidance would be super welcomed! (Will put info about stats below)
    4. Gain 5 new customers! (Cold ‘call’ 50 leads)
    5. Gain a few more Twitter followers! (Tweet 10 times, reply 5)
    1. 1

Currently have about 5 legitimate customers (excluding friends who I begged to sign up to make sure my ux wasn’t unusable).

They are definitely on the smaller side (product is for content creators) of where my product can really start gaining a lot of steam, but great for feedback.

Sitting on about 1000 leads at the moment and curious about dividing a plan on how to approach those. Any insights would be gladly appreciated.

  54. 1

Sell my side project www.theNFTbooster.com on Flippa or SideProjectors. I've uploaded it to Product Hunt as well to get some feedback.

  56. 1

Primarily, rewrite my codebase from Vue 2 to Vue 3! I've been procrastinating on this for a while but I continue to see that most of the innovation in the Vue ecosystem is with Vue 3 especially with Nuxt 3 becoming stable soon.

    1. 2

      You're going to love vue3.

I've been running it as long as it's been available.

Feel free to dm if you have any Qs

      1. 1

Oh wow even before it was out of beta? You must really love it then! Will do thanks @IndyDevDan! ☺️ I’m still getting a feel for it but can definitely see it’s potential.

        1. 1

Oh yes - I'm a huge vue fan boy.

Seriously all DMs are open you're not alone and I legit love talking about vue haha.

          1. 2

I can tell! hope I can still be one too after this rewrite lol. Cool, I just followed you on Twitter so I'll DM you there if I have any questions!

I am working on adding a couple of more job boards to https://remotefrontendjobs.com

    and https://remotebackendjobs.com.

Yesterday I've added https://realremote.io/ (by their request) and I am going to be adding https://theremotejobhunters.pallet.com/jobs next (again by their request).

Let's make it 30 job boards!

  58. 1

working on getrevin.com go to market strategy

  59. 1

To release MarketRoadie - marketing help for startup founders.

Currently, stuck with Paddle not wanting to approve the site, and Stripe is not available in my country (3rd world problems). PayPal is ok, I guess, but not very developer-friendly, hard to customize things, and they ask for a lot of unnecessary data (I mean, why would one leave his phone number and zip code when he just wants to get a full digital subscription on the site, come on).

So, back and forth with payment providers, not a very sophisticated job, but a man has to do what he has to do :) ad infinitum

    1. 1

go to getrevin.com - they will save you :)

      1. 1

Created an account an hour ago. Waiting for their approval. Thanks.

  60. 1

hmmm, a lot! mainly growth on our website NoCodeJournal.com and SaaSJournal.com!

I really hope more people will come and subscribe to our newsletter, and find NoCode softwares developers who will be open to be interviewed so we can feature their app on the website!!!

  61. 1

If everything goes according to plan we're going to launch woice on producthunt. If not this definitely next week. But my whole week is dedicated to preparing for launch and doing outreach to investors.

  62. 1
    1. Finish client's online store (just some minor SEO and shipping tasks left).
    2. Move client's wooCommerce store from slow and crappy premium theme to custom Genesis based theme to gain at least +30 points in Google Pagespeed.
    3. Try WordPress 6.0 and figure out if it's worth building client sites using WP or switch entirely to Statamic.
    4. Ironically write couple of small WordPress tutorials to my blog.
  63. 1

my goal is to promote my site Gardening Swift his link is https://gardeningswift.com/

This is a good idea, but you may want to consider working on the design and UI of the website. Also, the display of information may want to be shown in a way that's more easy to understand, if that makes sense. Nice job!

    DevXBlog - a SaaS project

    • update the landing page
    • do some content marketing for it
    • start working on the themes and the theme editor

Space and profits - a gamedev project

    • implement the character builder and design

    Personal blog

    • write something cool (not sure what, I procrastinated on this way too long)
