Momentum Influencers Blog Tour: The Unbreakable Boy Movie Review

From Kingdom Story Company, the team behind JESUS
REVOLUTION and THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER, and Lionsgate, the studiobehind WONDER, comes THE UNBREAKABLE BOY.
When his parents, Scott (Zachary Levi) and Teresa (Meghann Fahy), learn that Austin is both autistic and has brittle bone disease, they initially worry for their son’s future. But with Scott’s growing faith and Austin’s incredible spirit, they become “unbreakable,” finding joy, gratitude, and courage even in the most trying times —an
extraordinary true story about a father and son learning together that every day can be the best day of your life!

I really enjoy Movies and other media that are based on True Stories. I was excited to watch the new movie The UnBreakable Boy. Austin is a remarkable boy who has Autism and Brittle Bone Disease. I really LOVE how his parents advocate for him and are his strength through the hard times. His younger brother is AMAZING and sticks up for Austin when the kids at school start picking on him. I think for me one of the best parts of the movie is watching Austin and his Dad, Scott, get closer and the bond between become really strong as Austin gets older. Many times Dad's struggle on the inside when their children are sick. I really saw Austin's Dad be there for his son and LOVE him unconditionally. The story is one that shows the Faith, LOVE, Trials and Triumphs and BONDING of Family.

I HIGHLY recommend this Movie! It is a PG movie, some parts may need monitoring by parents. GREAT MOVIE!

"When the odds are unbelievable, show the world you're unbreakable."

Janie’s Hope is the captivating conclusion of the Southport Series, set in a charming small town where secrets run deep and love has the power to heal even the deepest wounds. Whether you’re a fan of gripping suspense or heartwarming romance, the Southport Series is an absolute must-read. Don’t miss your chance to dive into a world brimming with passion, intrigue, and unforgettable moments.

I really enjoy romantic Suspense novels. Janie's Hope by S.R. Fabrico is the latest book in this genre that I have read. It is Book 3 in the Southport Series. I have not read the first 2 books in this series YET, but it read well as a Stand Alone novel.

I will say the storyline started off a little dull, but by Chapter 2 I was getting into the story. The main character in this book are Janie(now know as Hope). Janie is on the search to find more about her deceased mother's life and to learn about her family heritage on her Mom's side. She was raised by her father who was a Billionaire but he spent his life in the house. Janie felt she lived a sheltered life. She meets Noah and they immediately connect and begin a friendship. Janie introduces herself to Noah as Hope. The mystery and intrigue as they begin to uncover the truth about Hope's mom has some scary moments that puts Noah and Hope in danger. The setting of a small town, Southport, NC, really excited me as I truly enjoy Small Town novels. The book has many twists and turns in the storyline, which kept me captivated. I really LOVE seeing Noah and Hope grow their relationship throughout the book. I am really wanting to read this series from beginning to end as this book was that good! The book is one of Mystery and Romance. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Romantic Suspense novels. GOOD BOOK!

Anything

Title: Anything: A Romance for Jesus Freaks
Series: Mayberry University Series #1
Author:
Kristina Welch
Publisher:
Independently Published
Release Date: February 1, 2025
Genre:
Christian YA Romance

Two guarded hearts.
He’s breaking down walls and she’s building them higher

A match made in Heaven, or a blueprint for disaster?

After the fiery downward spiral of senior year, Kit Talbot crash-lands on a quirky college campus where traditions rule and dorm floors act more like family. It’s just weird enough to keep her mind off the wreckage she’s leaving behind.

Enter Levi Whitaker, known as the swooniest guy on campus. Magnetic, confident, and far too much like the ex who sent her life into that PTSD-tainted nosedive. Levi seems to be everywhere, focused on her like she’s the only girl in the world—even indulging her sugar addiction with delivered treats. But Kit’s self-preservation instincts are sharper than ever, and she deflects him like Wonder Woman blocking bullets.

That is, until Levi’s quiet faith and humble apology start to break down Kit’s defenses. He loves Jesus in the dreamiest way, looks like wow, and ... somehow triggers the flashbacks she fights so hard to avoid. Every minute with him is a risk she isn’t sure she should take. Should she protect them both from the chaos of her life or learn a bravery that feels irresponsible?

As Kit fights to keep her life safe and manageable, she leans into her faith, clinging to the Bible verses God whispers to her heart. Clearly, he’s up to something, but the healing she prays for isn’t happening the way she wants.

Why is God silent on the prayer she needs most?

Christian Romance is a FAVORITE genre of mine. I also enjoy Young Adult genre. Anything by Kristina Welch combines both of these genres into one book. It is Book 1 in the Mayberry University Series.

I was impressed with this storyline from the very beginning of the book. The 2 main characters are Kit Talbot and Levi Whitaker. The pair met on their College Campus and began a friendship. Kit is coming to college just after a bad breakup and suffers from PTSD from that breakup. Levi is a gentleman who is also very solid in his Christian Faith. He begins to see that Kit is struggling with so much and decides to send her gifts to try to reach her and gain her trust in him. Kit fears getting into a relationship, but quickly begins to really like Levi. I really LOVE how Levi realizes that Kit has many "walls" that she is holding up and he is determined to help her break down those walls. I absolutely LOVE that the book focuses on the faith of College Students and that Levi is so strong in his faith. Many college students these days are "backsliding' in their faith and growing away from the Church. The book is one of Friendship, Faith, Romance and so much more. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Young Adult Romance. I am excited to continue reading this series as more books are published. GREAT BOOK!

Christian Historic Romance is a favorite genre of mine. His Grace's Governess by Jackie Killelea is the latest in this genre that I have read. It is Book 1 in the Saving the Spinnisters Series. Jackie Killelea is also a new to me author and I was excited to read a book from a new to me author.

I was reeled into the storyline from the very first chapter. The setting is London, England in 1817. The 2 main characters in this book are Eleanor Clairbridge and Edmund Colhampton, Duke of Albermarle. Eleo anor has taken a much needed job as a Governess. She hopes by taking this new job it will take her away from the frustations of life. The thing Eleanor wasn't anticipating was finding the Duke Edmund to be someone she could fall in love with. The Duke has hired Eleanor to take care of his niece, Rosie, who lost her parents in a tragic accident. I really LOVE how Eleanor and Duke Edmund realize rather quickly that they both have eyes for each other. They both have "baggage" from their past that must be uncovered and worked through if they want to have a relationship. The book was a great read and I truly LOVE that they trusted God to help them overcome obstacles. I really enjoyed seeing how they both had the interest of Rosie at heart throughout the book. The book is one of Faith, Trust and working through life. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Historical Romance from the Regency Era. GREAT BOOK!

Jackie Killelea is a born and raised small-town girl from Connecticut with a degree in English and Creative Writing. She started off her writing journey with poetry, soon shifting into novels and becoming hooked. On days when she’s not busy with her nose in a book, she can be found typing away with a cup of tea at her side.

More from Jackie

In His Grace’s Governess, much trouble befalls Edmund and Eleanor as they attempt to sort out their close proximity to and burgeoning feelings for one another, but there is one scene in particular that I enjoyed researching.

In one scene of the novel, Mr. Roskilly(the gardener at Ivy Grange Estate) worries at Eleanor plucking the plant Rabelera–otherwise known as Greater Stitchwort–from the ground. He fears that danger will befall Eleanor if she takes it from the garden and Eleanor, misunderstanding him, even believes at one point that Mr. Roskilly might be threatening her. But, why is Mr. Roskilly so worried? Is he really so concerned that Edmund’s hackles will be raised when he sees that Eleanor has plucked a few mere flowers from the garden–and with his niece, no less?

Indeed, that is not where his concern lies, for if you read the passage closely, you’ll see that Mr. Roskilly is Cornish. This is an important factor. When doing my research for the novel, I found that, in Cornwall, it is believed that Greater Stitchwort is the property of the pixies. It is believed that to pick it is to take it from them and to anger them, and if you anger them then there is all the chance that they may well retaliate for you having stolen what was theirs. Truly, they may even enchant you, according to legend. Having read this and being sufficiently intrigued, the scene was born! I do hope you get as much enjoyment out of it as I do.

Here is an excerpt from it so you know what I’m referring to:

“Hope yer walk’s went well. ’Tis a fine day fer one.” He grinned, revealing a mouth full of crooked teeth. His Cornish accent was thick, with a friendly tone to his voice.

Eleanor returned his smile and nodded. “It certainly is. What better way to spend a morning than to enjoy the sun in these beautiful gardens? They’re the finest I’ve ever seen.”

She could’ve sworn there was a hint of a blush on the man’s tawny face. “I than’ ye, miss. We do our righ’ bes’, and keepin’ i’ as i’ is makes ’is Grace ’appy. Ever since…” The man trailed off, a growing look of concern on his face.

What had he been about to say? Something about the duke or his family?

“Greater Stitchwort.” He spoke with a grave edge to his words, looking intently at the flower in Rose’s hand.

Eleanor’s gaze flitted from the man to the flower, her brows furrowing. “Is something wrong, sir?”

The man tilted his head, flicking his eyes to the side in a plea for a private conversation.

I will not say whether this decision to pick the plant affected Eleanor later on in the story or not, but I’ll leave you with this: Do consider all of the plants you touch before you decide to place your hand upon them and pull them from the ground.

Happy reading!

Jackie Killelea

On Blackwell’s Island, New York, a hospital was built to keep its patients from ever leaving.

She freely indulges in eccentric hobbies like fencing and riding her velocipede in her cycling costume about the city for all to see. Finding a loophole in the will, though, her uncle whisks Edyth off to the women’s lunatic asylum just weeks before her birthday. And Edyth fears she will never be found.

At the asylum she meets another inmate, who upon discovering Edyth’s plight, confesses that she is Nellie Bly, an undercover journalist for The World. Will either woman find a way to leave the terrifying island and reclaim her true self?

I really enjoy Historical Fiction genre. I also enjoy Romance and Crime books. Miss Blaire in Blackwell's Island by Grace Hitchcock has all those genres in this book. It is Book 1 of the Heiresses of Adventure Series.

WOW, this storyline drew me in from the very first few pages of Chapter 1.  The setting is in New York in 1887. The main characters in this book are Edyth Blaire and Bane Banebridge. Edyth is looking forward to her 25th Birthday, as then will be able to claim her inheritance. Her parents died many years before and  her uncle is to hand over the inheritance at her 25th Birthday. Her Uncle is a MEAN and GREEDY man and has Edyth sent to an Asylum claiming she is not in the right mind. Edyth fears she will never return to the outside world and she really needs to prove that she is indeed a sane woman. Edyth meets Bane and he gives her hope and prayers. Edyth has always been a believer and I LOVE the way she leans on God and her faith throughout the trials of being "locked up". Edyth also meets Nellie Bly within the Asylum. Nellie confesses to Edyth that she is an undercover journalist. I was so intrigued by the many twists and turns in this story. I also truly LOVED how Edyth and Bane's relationship grew and they both leaned on God. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Historical Romance with Mystery.  I am very much looking forward to reading all the books in this series! WONDERFUL BOOK!

More from Grace

I am thrilled to share with you my FIRST novel in the HEIRESSES OF ADVENTURE series, MISS BLAIRE IN BLACKWELL’S ISLAND, which is set in New York City in 1887. I loved writing about Edyth Blaire, our cat-rescuing, spunky heroine who spends her days painting, fencing with her dreamy instructor, and avoiding society at all costs, which as you can imagine, comes back to haunt her before the end. I’ve never written about a character who despised reading, so that was a new one for me. Edyth just doesn’t like to sit still long enough to finish a book, but you’ll find out why later.

While writing this book, I am pretty certain the librarians at my local branch were wondering what in the world my hobbies are, judging from the stacks of fencing books for beginners, histories of New York crime in the 19th century, and Nellie Bly’s Ten Days in a Mad-House, and more.

The inspiration for this book came from Nellie Bly’s scandalous exposé for Joseph Pulitzer’s newspaper, The World. In reading Nellie’s articles, I was shocked at the grounds by which the asylum would commit women and that’s when I discovered a tiny mention about an heiress with family members who had her tucked away so they could have her fortune. . . and Edyth Blaire was born.

I hope you will enjoy reading about our eccentric leading lady and her fencing master hero, Raoul “Bane” Banebridge in this friends-to-lovers romance. If you are interested in seeing pictures of the asylum and to see what I pictured the characters looking like, check out my Pinterest board here.
