HelpKit reached $3000 MRR and going full-time indiehacking

Today marks the third big milestone for me as an Indiehacker. Helpkit, my 100% bootstrapped SaaS, reached $3000 in MRR! That is over 130 paying customers. From small ambitious content creators to publicly traded companies are all now using HelpKit and Notion to serve their knowledge bases.

This is huge because it basically allows me to go full-time on indiehacking while still being in school (I need to finish my thesis asap). My goal for this summer was to reach $1K for ramen profitability and now reaching 3x is genuinely incredible and I am incredibly grateful for the experience so far.

Being able to work whenever, wherever and with whomever you want is such an invaluable experience I would never want to trade in again. For the past few months, I had the luxury of working from beautiful Lisbon, surfing and working at the beach of Costa da Caparica and will be soon flying to Bali to live and work from there for a few months.

Working on HelpKit and my other products has taught me more things than any $$$ MBA could ever do. From being extremely nervous about doing the first few customer meetings to now confidently have handled 100+ calls. I got much better at backend/DevOps, pricing, marketing, incorporation, international taxes and also handling obnoxious customer tickets. I have received (and turned down) a handful of acquisition offers and even had people reaching out asking to work for my company (crazy!).

The illustrations are indeed cool, @dominikSo. Is there a helpful tool for such graphics or do you create them yourself with an editor?

      1. 1

BrandBirdApp, is a tool to create such cool graphics and I think Dominik used that only - I am not sure tho
