Courting Daniel's Daughter (Daniel's Daughters, Book 1) by Mindy Steele

Courting Daniel's Daughter (Daniel's Daughters series Book 1)
ABOUT THE BOOK

Jesse Plank promised to keep a secret. A secret that drove him away from his home eight years ago. But when his father is injured, Jesse must return to help provide for his family. Finding Catherine still the beauty he remembered might convince him to stay.

Becoming Amish wasn’t the same as being born Amish. Thankfully for Catherine Raber, her terrible school years are behind her and life is looking up. That was until the last person she ever wanted to see again arrived in Miller’s Creek. Worse, her father just gave him a job.

MY THOUGHTS.....

Have you ever met a character that you hated to say goodbye to? Four years ago, I found one of the best fictional heroes ever, and now I get a reunion! Author Mindy Steele takes readers back to Miller's Creek for another intriguing tale with Daniel Raber, his wife Hannah, and the three little girls first introduced in "His Amish Wife's Hidden Past." Those little girls are now grown, and two sons have joined the family, but the core values of this family remain the same. They love each other deeply and are fully committed to serving God!

I'm thrilled that Steele has dedicated a new series to Daniel and Hannah's daughters. This first book focuses on Caroline Raber and a young Amish man who has just returned to Miller's Creek. Jesse Plank left under a cloud of doubt and suspicion, and Caroline has trust issues, but is it possible that they might find a future together? Sweet romance, hidden secrets, and a light mystery add to its appeal, but this story's true strength comes from this Amish family's hope, faith, and unconditional love. Courting Daniel's Daughter kept me fully engaged and eagerly turning the pages. Now I wait, somewhat impatiently, for the next book in this Daniel's Daughters series!

I received a complimentary eBook from the author. There was no obligation for a positive review.

Seeking Evil (Hallowed Halls #3) by Mary Alford

Seeking Evil (Hallowed Halls #3)
ABOUT THE BOOK

When BAU Agent Sierra Parker's car dies in the middle of nowhere Wyoming, she breaks a critical rule by catching a ride with a kindly stranger. This decision leads her straight into the lair of serial killer, where she discovers she isn't the first victim. Dozens of barrels contain the remains of those who went before her, and none of them escaped. Can Sierra outwit the seasoned killer to save her life, or will she become the latest victim buried in a barrel?

The last Agent Zeke London heard from Sierra was when she told him she needed to get away to figure things out between them. That was over a week ago and his calls have been met with radio silence. Can he do the impossible and locate Sierra in the middle of the mountains before it's too late?

MY THOUGHTS.....

I always enjoy this author's romantic suspense novels, but this book takes it to another level! It is an intense story that kept me turning the pages to discover a serial killer's identity and determine the motives that spurred the actions. It didn't take long for me to think it was an older man named Henry until another possibility emerged. Who was "T"? Was more than one demented person involved?

I was drawn to the sweet but troubled romance between two FBI agents, but the psychological aspects were the real attention-grabbers. What causes someone to kill not once, but over and over again? Can they receive forgiveness and redemption? Do they deserve to be forgiven?

Seeking Evil is a page-turning, nail-biting, and often gut-wrenching story of danger, survival, and an overpowering will to live. I recommend it to all who enjoy romantic Christian suspense.

I received a complimentary digital copy from the author. There was no obligation for a positive review.
