This one strategy has driven 76,000 organic visits It’s a 100% unique, rarely-used technique. It’s also a little crazy👇 It starts with Google: Go to Google, type in: (your brand) alternatives You’ll see a list of companies targeting YOUR potential customers! Don’t let them control the narrative Create your own alternatives landing page I’m serious Create a “(your brand) alternatives” page For example: If you’re the HubSpot SEO, create a “HubSpot alternatives” page If you’re the Zendesk SEO, create a “Zendesk alternatives” page (And so on) Here’s my process: 1. Create a 1500-word landing pages and include 3 competitors, and why you’re different/ better than each one (Be fair. Don’t be biased) 2. Find 3-5 internal links from existing content. Link from 4 blog posts and 1 link from the home page (I used the footer) 3. Build 5 backlinks to the new page using “(your brand alternative)” anchor 4. (Optional) Run PPC campaigns to the new page targeting “brand alternative” searches. CPCs will be low, it’s YOUR brand! Trust me: Your competitors are NOT doing this So, do it! Yes, it's a little crazy But sometimes - like this tactic - crazy works! ✌️ #Marketing P.S. Want the template I used to create the landing page? Let's connect and I'll share it with via DM
Interesting tactic Steven Macdonald - what are the engagement metrics like on these landing pages? i.e. do they have a high bounce rate?
This is a very insightful post. I would definitely implement this
