Local libraries are launching their music streaming platforms

Many public libraries in US and Canada are offering music streaming services to patrons to boost local music. They offer artists non-exclusive licenses, extending their music to the community. The concept originated when Preston Austin and Kelly Hiser built a music library for Madison Public Library. This inspired MUSICat, an open-sourced software under startup Rabble, to launch streaming services.
