The southeast of England gives London a close run for its money as the UK’s SME hub, with 932,000 private companies based there, compared with 1.1 million in the capital. Together, the two regions are home to 35 per cent of all the businesses in the country.

In the third of our series on fast growing companies around the UK, we look at four companies growing in the southeast: Open Cosmos in Oxford, Carbon Clean in Reading, and two very different firms in Surrey: Panaseer and Carousel Lights.
