I launched an AI tool to help with tourist visas.

Hi! Anyone here apply to tourist visas when they travel or live in another country short term?

I had to apply for lots of visas in the last few years to go to Europe, the UK, etc. Each time, I have to write a cover letter, book flights/hotels, have my employers sign a letter, and find lots of documents.

I recently started a project where I've so far helped close to 30 people with visa applications, here are some of the current features of myvisa.app :

  1. Generate a cover letter with AI and human in the loop.
  2. Based on your dates and destinations, find flight and hotel reservations.
  3. Help with other supporting docs such as find travel insurance, generate employment letter.

Would you use this? Here's the link: https://www.myvisa.app/

My ultimate goal is to create sort of a turbotax for visa applications, as the current process is extremely tedious. If you're applying to or recently applied to a visa, would love to hear about any pain points!

*edit: have been seeing some more sign ups :) I will prioritize helping sign ups that actually require visas to travel!

Looks Great. When did you start working on this project?

    1. 1

Thanks! I started working on it the beginning of the month, and have since then helped ~30 people with their visa cover letters!

Trying to think about what other problems people have regarding visas, and where to find people that can benefit from this

Can I dm you? I think I got an interesting idea for an AI powered SaaS after a deep market research.

Maybe Reddit can be your ally for finding what and where. create a small article, and spread it in subreddits where your audience swings around.

        1. 2

Yeah makes sense, thanks for the suggestion! I've been going to a few visa subreddits to comment :)

Hi Claudia, I have an Ai project im working on - although I'm not the best programmer - if you are interested, maybe we can chat about it, i'd love a partner in crime.

Really cool idea !! . As a greek i love the first image of landing page :)
Before you launch the product you had done this work manually for clients ?:)

    1. 1

Thank you!! Greece is awesome for landing page images :D

I have done this manually myself (approved for 10+ travel visas), and have helped friends and family as well. Definitely learning more about specific cases in the past few weeks with new signups though.

Very cool! Submit it on httsp://saasbaba.com it's a free AI Tool Directory.

Thank you! Will check it out :)

Oh man. I just got a working holiday visa, which I started applying for 7 months ago. I wished there was something like this. I hope you cover more types of visas.

    1. 1

Where were you applying for a working holiday visa? would love to learn more about your experience! :)

      1. 1

I was applying to go to Spain as a Canadian citizen. Most other working holiday countries have a pretty straightforward process, but Spain's was quite convoluted and even finding out what the steps were was difficult. In order to get the visa, first you have to get a foreigner identification number (NIE). To apply for that, you have to go to the consulate in person. Canada is a big country and the consulate is in Toronto. So in order to do this from afar, you have to have your application stamped by "honorary consuls" that they have in various larger cities. This honorary consul is literally one person whose home address and phone number are on the website. In my experience, they rarely answer their phone or their email. When I finally got in touch with them (after weeks of trying), the process that they described was different from what the consulate website said. TLDR: I had to get a photocopy of my passport, get it stamped at a notary, send it (by mail) to the honorary consul, who would then stamp a second copy of my passport. And then I could use that second copy for my NIE application. So that was just part 1.

I applied for the NIE, and what was supposed to take 2 weeks, took 2 months. I never heard back and had to email multiple times before they finally sent me my NIE via email.

Then I could apply for the visa, but by then, the criminal background check that i had gotten at the beginning of this process was "expired". Also, I had to include a medical note from a doctor to attest that I'm healthy, and this note had to have very specific wording, copy/pasted from the consulate website. Mine didn't, so I had to get that redone. As all this was going on and time passed, my passport entered its last year of validity which is an issue for a 1-year visa, so I had to do a passport renewal as well.

Wow that's crazy and a huge number of back and forths, thanks so much for sharing the experience. Did you have to wait until you go the work visa before going to Spain then? Will connect with you :) also curious how you found all the information, if you got help from any agencies or things like that.

This is a great idea and I can see it could be quite valuable!

I'd suggest you might also look at other immigration forms such as N400, I-485, etc., which takes much longer and more time to prepare, and immigration lawyers charge a lot for those so potential savings are much higher.

Can I dm you? I think I got an interesting idea for an AI powered SaaS after a deep market research.

    2. 1

Yeah thanks for the feedback! Would be awesome to help with immigration in the future, it's definitely super hard and time consuming. Though, I don't foresee replacing immigration lawyers any time soon since immigration is super high stakes!

Really cool mini Saas, do you see any problems with Ai "lying" on applications?

Right now I'm only using AI for generating a daily itinerary! I've definitely seen a few cases of the itineraries not making sense (such as go from rome-milan- florence then back to rome and back to milan).

How I'm dealing with that is just to have a person review everything and put in finishing touches! At the moment, the AI might have hallucinations and not able to produce an 100% usable application letter.

    Quick roast by Diabolic Design.

Your app exudes elegance. I must say, you've chosen a great template for your topic. The image from Santorini is undeniably appealing. However, there are several small details that require attention.

The placement of "Get Started" on a dark background poses a contrast issue.

The rest of the navigation is initially hidden during the user's journey, and the reason behind this is unclear.

The anchor links are not functioning correctly; I recommend changing the reference object.

The word "Itinerary" may be too complex for non-native speakers.

There is a significant amount of missing information for potential app users. It would be beneficial to enhance how you present your website. For instance, providing details about your company's location, ownership, and channels for complaints. Without these essential elements, you may encounter challenges in the acquisition process.

And this is just the beginning. I see ample room for improvement, which means there is a long road ahead.

By implementing these changes, users should experience a more streamlined and engaging process. If you appreciate my feedback, feel free to upvote my comment or follow me :)

This is very cool, Claudia :)

    1. 1

Thanks very much Mark! Would love to hear if you've had experience with applying for visas yourself.

  10. 2

Geopolitical tensions make it harder every year to travel with a visa and piece of mind. It would be great if it included some information of regulation and policies in that country (it was a big worry of mine while being a digital nomad). Got a few fines because there was no way I knew their regulation on parked bikes!

    1. 2

I can imagine that posing legal risk though; maybe some guidance on where to look up such legislation could be useful but I'm afraid the responsibility should lie with the traveler themself. I'm a mod of a digital nomad community and it's something we've considered incorporating but decided against it due to legal risks.

      1. 1

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I think having more directions and useful information would be awesome, a lot of visa sites do have things like what kind of visas to apply for, required documents, etc.

I'm thinking as I add more to the site, I can also include more information (and link to the government source for the most up to date info).

  11. 2

That's a cool idea, can take out the hassle involved for people who are applying for visas.

    1. 2

      Yeah that's the goal, thanks!

EU will have electronic visas next year

    1. 1

You mean for US citizens right?

I believe for people who need Schengen visas (chinese, indian citizens and many others), we still need to prepare a lot of documents and go to an appointment.

      1. 1

No. Will be the same for everyone that wants to visit Schengen area.

        https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias/who-should-apply_en

        1. 1

Thanks a lot for sharing! I was hoping Chinese and Indian citizens can do the ETIAS, but it looks like countries that previously require visas "visa-required countries" still need visas (https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/HTML/?uri=CELEX:02018R1806-20210101&from=EN#tocId18)

But it does seem like other citizens, such as US, will need the ETIAS starting next year

          1. 1

ETIAS is not about removing VISA requrements. The whole point is that anyone who needs to apply for it will be able to do it electronically for 7eur fee and it will be vslud for 3y if I remeber correctly. For mayority of ppl it will be much cheaper and faster this way.

  13. 1

How are you currently promoting this tool?

    1. 1

Hey! I have been going to a few subreddits where people have visa related questions and answering them, and linking my tool.

Would love any advise on other places to promote this :)

  14. 1

This is a great idea! In general, any government procedures.

For me personally, I want to get my Dual Citizenship so that can be an additional service.
